Never thought about it that way. Compared to all the other carnivals that have been put together, the ones I did were below standard. I just fear that it scares potential new hosts off volunteering. I think we need some dull middling-average carnivals for a few weeks so people will think, 'well I could do better than that!' rather than 'I could never follow that!' (I'm joking.) (I think.)
